Futari Ecchi (Step up love story)? If I recall, it is about a newly married couple who were both virgins when they married, and are having troubles getting the deed done in the bedroom. So they elicit help from various people to try and make things better. It is mostly innuendo, not very ecchi from what I recall

Ah yes, that would be one of Bradley's infamous picks along with Sakura Diaries. Wasn't there a third that completed the trifecta or was that selection wisely nipped in the bud?

see how much trouble one little quote from Harunobu Madarame can be?

Any way, all systems GO!

It's pretty sad to see how old this thread is only to realize that I'm only just now contemplating my 400th. What with the holidays, video game sales and all the noise of late, it took me until just now to finish Towanoquon which puts me at 398 series watched which leaves me with one more show to watch before the big 400 which, in turn, leaves a brief opportunity for me to lasso in some suggestions. Originally I had intended for Madoka to occupy the 400th spot but, having just seen the movies recently, it's not as much of an urgent watch...not that it's still not a contender.

Aldric had suggested Katanagatari for which he made a compelling case and is one that I'm blissfully ignorant of any details of. Likewise, I belive Zero was very passionate about Endless 8 so it clearly must be an anime for the ages.

So what do you think? Any intriguing or pivotal shows that deserve the vaunted and distinguished honor of being considered for an evenly-divisible-by-one-hundred'th title for a guy somewhere in the middle of North America?

Oooh, I did just get the second half of that too. I hadn't remember this being an "event" thread. If I had it together better I'd have thought sooner to see if there was interest in a New Year's gathering to marathon it but I imagine most everyone already has plans of some sort.

I am passionate about Endless 8 being the biggest mistake ever made in anime. 8 episodes of essentially the same material with only minor differences in each episode. I recommend any of the Aria seasons, TTGL, Kamichu, Madoka tv series, Catgirl Nuku Nuku OVA, or Record of Loddoss War OVA. One other show I would recommend is Kemono no Souja Erin. Problem is, it's only on CR, and it is about 50 episodes. Have you seen Highschool of the Dead  ? Did you finish Durarara or Bakemonogatari?

Haha, yeah I believe any time Endless 8 has come up since it came out you, or pretty much anyone whose seen it, goes on a verbal rampage. There are a few apologists out there and I might well be inclined to like it (since I really liked Groundhog Day) but I think everyone agrees that it's, at the very least, definitely not exceptional. I've seen TTGL(300th), Kamichu, Madoka(movies covering 96% of the series), Nuku Nuku, Lodoss and Beast Player Erin and Highschool of the Dead. Oh and Bakemonogatari. Man that's a hell of a list and there are some really good picks on there. I might even be briefly mistaken for being the anime equivalent of "well read". It would be fun to watch DRRRR as I only just watched its spiritual successor Baccano just before the holidays but alas I still haven't brought myself to pay Aniplex's prices. I believe that leaves the last remaining title [b]Aria[b] as the final contestant.

I would also put in another vote for Steins; Gate if Katanagatari falls by the wayside... I can't remember my compelling argument either. Something about visual style... AND BADASSARY! (Stelins gate also has Badassary and a very awesome plot. And tu-tu-ru http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PufrFDQQz8E)

Just finished Junkers Come Here so now I'm ready for #400. I've settled on Steins Gate since everyone seems to have a good opinion of it combined with the fact that I have a chance to watch something at least a little bit current. Tomorrow I'll settle in for a marathon. Cheers everyone and thanks for helping me pick the first anime of the new year! Happy New Year everyone!

Save Aria for 398-400. I am currently at 595 on MAL. Not sure what that equates to on ANN or any other site

Man I wish you could abstain long enough till this weekend when I could join in. And I would love to see your face as eps 12 grabs you. Anyway maybe wait for the second volume until Saturday? I have 3 eps to go & would like be in on it with someone.

It's cruel, I know, asking someone not to watch anime so instead Happy New Year & enjoy!
