My first Gundam (Sandrock from Gundam Wing)

Postby Reinhart » Sat Aug 24, 2013 4:54 pm

I got my hand on this lady thanks to my generous boss as a reward. She's Sandrock Master Grade 1/100 from Gundam Wing, re-released in Master Grade back in 2011 along with all others from Gumdam Wing.

After putting everything together

My liner pen hadn't arrived yet so I posed her a bit

Finished all the lining and putting all the stickers on (except the press-on stickers, I failed hard at that)

And at one point I was bored

Conclusion: I wish I had a better camera, and my next target will be the Sinanju High Grade 1/144

First off I admit I am a baka for collectibles. But this just looks so cool & elaborate. Tell me more about Sandrock & where in the Gundam legacy it fits in?
Your boss gave it to you? Can I work there too?

Talk to T3k if you want some incredibly cool pics done of this!

Very nice! You make me want to take my AV-98 kit from Patlabor and get it built.

Brings back a lot of memories. I used to put together Gundam models all the time. Mostly the 1/144 cheap ones you could get at Target. I used to put them together while working on the phones at Gateway, and on a couple of long car trips where I was a passenger. My favorites were Wing Zero (where the zero part of my user name comes from) and Deathscythe.

Huh? I thought "ZeroRyoko" came from, well, "Zero Ryoko," the Ryoko clone in the original Tenchi OVA.

That's what I always thought too. Anyway, before I forget, nice SOA cup. It's an oddity that making a Gundam model kit is, at the same time, such potent geek cred yet a rarity for a domestic anime fan to have completed. I'm pretty fannish in some ways but this is something I've never taken the plunge on. Keep us up to date with more pics once you've given it a once-over with your Gundam marker.

I started out back in the day as Wingzero1974, and then at some point for a brief time on another board became Linkzero1974 (the moderator/owner of the board used Link as a user name, and made a no other links rule, so everyone on the board changed their name to some combination of Link when he went on vacation), I was forced to change it, so that is when I decided on Zeroryoko1974. So, it can be taken as Zero the clone Ryoko, or I guess Ryoko using a Gundam with the zero system
