Forced perspective is your friend. I've done the same thing with gaming minis.

I hope I run into some of these Konosuba prize figures at Naka-kon. The poster had initially showed pictures of some various art supplies for scale, and I suggested he needed to use beer for scale lol

That Rei reminds me a lot of the Creators' Lab rendition of her from a while back:

Oh, and another kimono for the must-have list:

A [comparatively] rare Rin Tohsaka appears:

It's pretty rare for AmiAmi to wrangle an exclusive figure. Let's hope they make a regular habit of it.

Another chance at a Rory, Matt. A little pricey though:

I guess with prices like that, it is no wonder that merchandising is dwarfing blu ray revenue. 150 bucks doesn't even shock me anymore. For the longest time, 150 was the most I ever paid for a figure (Fate Testerossa because of high shipping, and Yuki Nagato Gekisou ver). Now it seems commonplace for 150-200 bucks for seemingly normal scale figures. [/rant]

Pros: The portraiture is really good. If she's not looking up, at least she isn't looking down. Overall quality.

Cons: It's a static pose, instead of an action one like the last Rory I wanted. It consumes a monstrous amount of footprint. For a hundred and fifty bucks plus shipping, it doesn't take my breath away.

I'll let it percolate for a while. I've been wrestling with buyer's remorse since I paid, I think, $140 for my Akatsuki.

I've been meaning to mention, by the way, a few weeks ago I moved my two display cases from where they were (a rather dark corner of the living room) to where they are now (a better-lit corner of the dining/gaming room). An all-day and demanding project: pulling the figures out while trying to retain their arrangements; strapping the display cases together vertically, since there's nothing actually holding them together but gravity; moving the cases most carefully (and with no damage, I'm pleased to say); and putting the figures back in. I did take the opportunity to dust, though they didn't really need it very much. And they look much better in the new location. I might have to re-arrange them to take advantage of the improved lighting.

Tim, you are never, ever moving. You'll be in that house until you die.

This was actually part of a cascading series of "move thing to make room to move other things" chores of which the most frightful was Saturday's relocation of a 93-gallon aquarium. God, never again, I hope. In order to get the fish out the temporary storage bucket as quickly as possible, we couldn't fill the tank from the hose. We had to use the house water instead, which meant I ended up raising about 700 pounds of water shoulder-high before I was done.

Sounds like you can skip shoulders next time at the gym. I was curuous, abd checked on the asking price for the Kotobukiya Rory figure, and people are asking 300+ i am vlad i got mine at retail price. I didnt pull the trigger on the Akatsuki, thought it was to small for the asking price.
