One Bite

Postby phoenix » Mon Jul 14, 2008 4:17 am

We ate at One Bite a couple weeks ago. It is in south Overland Park at 135th and Antioch in the strip mall behind Sams. Or for you MapQuesters it is at 8602 West 133rd Street.

The atmosphere was nice, casual, and a lot smaller than I expected. You wouldn't be able to go with a group of more than six without having to be seperated into a couple different booths or having to sit at the bar.

My dish was okay; I ordered the Veggie Okonomi-yaki. What Jeremy ordered was delicious, I think it was the Inaka Chicken. The misomayo sauce was delicious but the eggplant was overcooked.

But we will return, and when we do go back I will order the "Lollypop." And stick around for a snowball (Japanese ice cream) Although, sadly, they do not have the red bean flavored ice cream. My personal favorite.

Here is an article about the place that was in the Pitch about a year ago.

Since OneBite has come up in the threads several times I though it would be worth mentioning that they're no longer there. There was rumor of a sister restaurant starting up in Westport under a different name but I believe they've simply moved the original restaurant instead.

Aaah, that makes sense. I went looking for it one night and I couldn't find it for the life of me. I don't live too far from the westport area though, so if they just moved the original restaurant I might still get to try it! Thanks!

One Bite was a good place to eat and to me a relatively newer discovery. But, wow, this thread was started by Phoenix back in '08!

I'll keep an eye out for them as I pass through Westport.

"in affiliation with"? I don't get it.. So do they sell the same foods and have a different name, or are they just owned by the same people?

I assume same ownership and some complications with keeping the same name.
