Shelf space

Well, it's happened. The manga and the domestic prose paperbacks have crunched together; I'm going to have to move something somewhere entirely new.

I was reading the Certain Scientific Railgun manga at the same time as I was watching the anime. That was a mistake; the two kept stepping on each other. I won't try that again.

But I've been on kind of a manga tear lately. Over the last couple of weeks I re-read the Soul Eaters I already had, and then 16, 17, and 18 for the first time. As mentioned elsewhere, I'm pretty high on the series, but I also think it's helpful for me to read a bunch at once. I also got volume 5 of Haganai, which I'm still liking. I also re-read the two-volume Abenobashi Magic Shopping District, and some other titles I can't recall just now.

And had a odd experience. I'd gotten volume 1 of Highschool of the Dead and thought, "I dunno". Then I read the TVTropes entry for the series and totally got in the mood to experience it again, so now I'm tearing through the manga like crazy.

And speaking of shelf space, I was interested to observe today that the Barnes & Noble in Oak Park mall has expanded its manga section by one or two shelf units.

Of course, about half of that new space is dedicated to Attack on Titan...

(I exaggerate.)
