This is new territory for Funi but they just announced that they're releasing Speed Racer on BD.

I wonder if it's public domain. I think the timing is about right. But they'd still have to have access to masters.

Speed Racer was a bit of a surprise. Wikipedia says the original series is only 52 eps which is a lot less than I expected. I was really pleased with the Project Itoh announcement. I like the idea of different directors taking different sci-fi novels of one author and putting their own spin on it. Hopefully they will bring it to theaters like they are planning to for Attack on Titan live action, The Boy and the Beast, Psycho Pass, and new GITS movie. I'll also have to watch Tokyo Ghoul this fall to see if I want to get their collector's edition.

I welcome the Speed Racer news! I feel like the way it was previously released was a little clumsy. Did anyone get those dvds? The wheel containers?
